Columbus, OH – The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) recently announced that Jovon A. Palmer of Groveport, Ohio, has pleaded guilty to Workers’ Compensation Fraud, a fifth-degree felony, after investigators confirmed he was operating his own business while receiving disability benefits to which he was not entitled.
The case originated when BWC’s Special Investigations Unit received an allegation that Palmer had returned to work despite actively collecting disability benefits.
The subsequent investigation established that Palmer knowingly and with fraudulent intent engaged in employment activities associated with his cleaning business while continuing to receive BWC payments.
On September 14, 2026, a Franklin County judge accepted Palmer’s guilty plea and ordered him to pay $10,994.30 in restitution.
