Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap continues our visit to Fabulous Las Vegas for the National Workers’ Compensation & Disability Conference! Yesterday we hit the ground running, with productive meetings, lots of expo hall action and friendly run-ins, and capped it off with some great networking events!
Featured in the news today is WCRI’s announcement of its upcoming free webinar to review its study findings on long COVID in the workers’ comp system in 2020-21, noting that long COVID continued to affect a meaningful share of workers with COVID-19 infections, and that cases may be costly. Key areas of discussion will include the prevalence of long COVID among workers with COVID-19; the costs of long COVID claims; durations of temporary disability benefits among workers with long COVID; the industry and worker characteristics most associated with long COVID; and how rates of long COVID vary across states.
