Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features NCCI’s release of its 2023 Regulatory and Legislative Trends report, which provides an overview of key legislative, regulatory, and other developments affecting the workers compensation system as of July 31.
Key areas highlighted included workplace-related mental injuries, marijuana reimbursement, independent contractors/gig economy, COVID-19 workers compensation legislation, and single-payer health insurance, as well as legislative breakdowns by zone for other developments. This year’s report also includes an Enacted Legislation Dashboard, which offers a countrywide view of 2023 and 2022 enacted workers comp-related legislation, sortable by year, state, zone, and topic. A Loss Cost/Rate Filing Dashboard allows navigation of filed and approved loss cost/rate information based on filing seasons.
