Lincoln, NE – Judge Dirk V. Block has been elected presiding judge of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court for a term beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2025.
The election was made at a June 23, 2023 meeting of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court judges.
The Nebraska Supreme Court approved the election on June 29, 2023.
The Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court is composed of six judges who are initially appointed by the governor and who then remain on the bench for successive six-year terms upon approval of the electorate.
Every two years one of the judges is elected as presiding judge by the judges of the court, subject to approval of the Nebraska Supreme Court.
