Springfield, IL – Governor J.B. Pritzker recently announced the Appointment of Kisa P. Sthankiya as a Member of the Workers’ Compensation Commission Review Board.
Ms. Sthankiya earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and went on to earn her Juris Doctor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She has been a practicing attorney since 2009.
Ms. Sthankiya is a Partner at the firm of Rusin & Maciorowski in their Workers’ Compensation Department. She is highly knowledgeable in all facets of workers’ compensation claims including their management and litigation. Prior to joining Rusin & Maciorowski she worked as in-house counsel for a national insurance company specializing in both workers’ compensation and civil litigation defense.
Ms. Sthankiya has also been recognized as an “Emerging Lawyer” by Leading Lawyers since 2018, and as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers since 2018. She has been a guest lecturer and author regarding workers’ compensation issues with the Illinois Institute of Continuing Education and at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Illinois Workers Compensation Commission Chairman Michael J. Brennan noted that Ms. Sthankiya will bring significant experience to the WCRB, and congratulated her on her appointment.
