Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features WCRI’s announcement of a new webinar to review the findings of its recent study on extended physical medicine use for workers with low back pain.
WCRI noted that physical medicine is commonly used to treat workers with low back pain and other musculoskeletal injuries, and that the study identified a number of important factors that are associated with a higher likelihood of receiving extended physical medicine care. In the webinar the study author will review the prevalence of extended use of physical medicine services and how it varies across states; how extended physical medicine use is associated with overall costs and duration of temporary disability; and the factors that help predict the likelihood of extended physical medicine use, including which ones can be used for better management of claims and care.
