Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new report from WCRI that compiles regulations affecting prescription drugs in all 50 states for injured workers, offering insight into the various regulatory strategies adopted by each state and overseen by different agencies.
In addition to providing an overview of state regulations, the report also highlights some of the most pressing prescription drug issues stakeholders are concerned about in 2023, including workers’ compensation drug formularies, opioid prescription limitations and monitoring rules, price regulations for pharmacy- and physician-dispensed drugs, the expanded role of pharmacists in patient care, prescription drug monitoring programs, pharmacy benefit manager regulations, and medical marijuana regulations. The data presented is based on surveys completed by two agencies for each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, offering a snapshot in time as of January 1, 2023.
