Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the announcement from the National Safety Council (NSC) that it is awarding $285,000 through two new grant programs aimed at tackling the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace: the Research to Solutions (R2S) grant and MSD Solutions Pilot Grant 1.0.
The R2S grant will provide up to $75,000 per approved research project, totaling $225,000 in grants, and invites academic institutions, businesses, and industries to develop new solutions for MSDs that can be easily integrated across various sectors and workplaces. The MSD Solutions Pilot Grant 1.0, will award a total of $60,000 to prevent MSDs caused by manual material handling. It aims to pair organizations with innovative technology providers to test emerging technologies in real-life applications.
