Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new white paper from ODG by MCG that examines the impact of remote working on the workers’ compensation industry.
The paper looks at predictions on the rate of telework post-COVID, citing the BLS’s finding that teleworking rates have fallen from their height at the start of the pandemic, but are nevertheless well above their level before the pandemic, and will undoubtedly remain for jobs that are well suited to it. Also covered are several court cases that have touched on injuries in “home offices” and their particularities and conclusions. The paper also examines new state legislation which specifically defines injuries for workers’ compensation in remote work, and offers some suggestions for managing remote-work strategies.
