Columbus, OH – The 2022 Oregon Workers’ Compensation Premium Rate Ranking Summary results were released in late November.
The study found the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) had the 5th lowest workers’ compensation premium rates among all states and Washington, D.C. through Jan. 1, 2022.
This 5th place ranking is an improvement from 12th place in the study’s 2020 results. Before that, in 2008, Ohio had the third highest rate in the country. This means Ohio is consistently improving and reducing premium rates for Ohio’s employers faster than most other states.
“Ohio is a great place to live and do business,” said Administrator/CEO Stephanie McCloud. “We continue to improve the way we work with our customers and lower rates to help employers succeed.”
The Oregon Rate Study is a biennial study that compares workers’ compensation rates by state. The study is produced by the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, and it compares rates across a selection of 50 classification codes.
