CA DWC Posts Revised Adjustment to Official Medical Fee Schedule (Ambulance Services)

January 30, 2023 - WorkCompWire

San Francisco, CA – The California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) issued an order dated November 28, 2022 adjusting the Ambulance Services section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to Calendar Year 2023 changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1.

Thereafter, on January 9, 2023, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services adopted a revised Ambulance Fee Schedule to incorporate provisions of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, that extend temporary add-on payments for ambulance services. DWC has posted an Ambulance Fee Schedule CY 2023 update order to adopt the revised Medicare fee schedule.

The update order is effective for services rendered on or after January 1, 2023, and supersedes the order dated November 28, 2022. The order can be found at the DWC OMFS Ambulance Fee Schedule webpage.
