Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features Safety National’s announcement of the 2022 winners of its annual Safety First Grant Program, which awards three policyholders with matching grants in order to develop creative risk control ideas they submitted into formal safety programs.
This year’s first place grant was awarded to The Builders Group of Minnesota for the implementation of additional exoskeleton systems to reduce lifting-related injuries. BJC Healthcare was awarded the second place grant to employ motorized stretchers, enhancing safe patient handling techniques and facilitating easier patient transfers and reducing strain and sprain injuries for transport staff. The third place grant was awarded to Covenant Logistics Group for the application of trailer door safety straps to minimize musculoskeletal injuries and fractures, limiting the impact of falling freight on drivers.
