Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features NCCI’s release of a new Insights report from a series that examines return-to-work perspectives. NCCI interviewed various employer professionals to get their perspectives on return-to-work programs (post-injury).
NCCI noted that helping an injured employee recover and return to work safely is a fundamental component of a healthy workers’ compensation system. A successful RTW program and post-injury outcome may include many facets, such as developing a strategic plan before an accident occurs and establishing connections between the injured employee and their workplace throughout the entire workers’ comp journey, which can benefit everyone from the injured employee and their family to their employer and insurer. The report explores successes with RTW programs across various employers, and includes several commonalities identified by the participants that can assist in creating a successful RTW program.
