Brown & Brown, Inc. Subsidiary PGCS Selects SpearClaims

August 3, 2022 - WorkCompWire

Corte Madera, CA – Spear Technologies recently announced that Preferred Governmental Claim Solutions, Inc. (PGCS) has selected SpearClaims as its new claims solution. PGCS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown, Inc. and a premier governmental third-party administrator (TPA) in Florida. SpearClaims will support claims management for all lines of business, including workers’ compensation, property, general liability, and auto liability, and in the area of workers’ comp, it will also support case management.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with PGCS,” said Jose Tribuzio, CEO of Spear Technologies. “PGCS is one of the foremost TPAs, providing exceptional claims management service for more than 30 years. Its proactive strategies have helped clients achieve optimal outcomes and an outstanding level of savings. Within PGCS’ operations, SpearClaims will deliver the modern cloud technology that’s needed to continually drive innovation and program enhancements.”

Viviane Ruiz, COO & CIO, Services Segment of Brown & Brown, Inc., commented on how she envisions SpearClaims will impact operations: “We’re planning to leverage Spear’s cutting-edge technology to support our high standards of claims-handling excellence. These standards were designed with one primary goal in mind—to enable our customers’ success. Our subsidiary, PGCS, found that it was time to update its claims system. SpearClaims was selected because it’s built on the Microsoft Power Platform, and since our organization is centered on Microsoft technology, this solution was a great fit for our vision and path forward.”

Ruiz assisted PGCS in surveying the claims software market. “We saw that off-the-shelf solutions would have forced PGCS to fit its processes to the confines of those rigid offerings. By contrast, SpearClaims—with its low-code / no-code platform—is very agile and can be custom-fit to PGCS’s unique claims-handling processes. This level of flexibility and customization will afford tremendous value, as PGCS will be able to tailor the system to its current business requirements and future needs.”

Ruiz added: “Through the vetting process, we also wanted to find a software provider who could serve as a strategic partner to our organization. In working with Spear, I’ve seen their team members jump in and act as a seamless extension to our development team, helping to troubleshoot and solve challenges with inventive solutions. We feel confident in the relationship we’re building and that Spear will be able to help us meet our goals to deliver ongoing quality claims services across all of our lines of business and to provide customers with easier access to claims data, so they can understand their risk profile and future insurance needs.”
