TN Governor Lee Appoints Meredith B. Weaver Workers’ Compensation Judge

July 5, 2022 - WorkCompWire

Nashville, TN – Governor Bill Lee recently appointed Meredith B. Weaver as a judge on the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board for the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).

Weaver has practiced law for 18 years, primarily in the areas of workers’ compensation and employment law. She is an attorney with the firm Peterson White in Knoxville.

Weaver was voted by her peers for a “Best Lawyers in America” award in the category of workers’ compensation law in 2018 and 2019. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the East Tennessee Legal Association of Women. Weaver has served on the board of CASA of East Tennessee.

BWC Administrator Abbie Hudgens said of Weaver’s appointment, “Meredith Weaver will be a welcome addition to the Appeals Board. As a judge, I know she will be fair to all parties and reflect the values for which the Appeals Board is known.”

After her June 24, 2022, swearing-in, Weaver will replace retiring Judge David Hensley on the Appeals Board.

“We are excited to welcome Judge Weaver to the Appeals Board,” said Judge Timothy W. Conner. “We look forward to working with her to serve the employees and employers of Tennessee.”

Weaver attended Auburn University, where she majored in Communications and graduated magna cum laude. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated cum laude.
