Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new Insights report from NCCI that examines COVID-19 workers’ comp presumption legislation across the country and provides the latest updates on items in progress as of June 1st.
Key areas of examination included how many states have established COVID-19 workers compensation presumptions since the start of the pandemic; whether any of those states are considering legislation to extend their presumptions and/or expanding presumptions to additional types of workers; whether other are states considering legislation that would establish new presumptions for COVID-19 for certain workers; what states are considering legislation that could be applicable beyond the current COVID-19 pandemic; and which states have presumptions in effect (vs expired, etc).
