Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the announcement from Texas Mutual that it is committing a total of $7 million in open grant funding to organizations across Texas through two request for proposal initiatives.
The first grant cycle, for generational learning, will focus on organizations improving the health and wellness of Texas workers and their families by providing access to quality health care and health education; strengthening the early childhood education system; and providing holistic wrap around support for clients in addition to case management to ensure families have the resources they need to seize opportunities. The second grant cycle, for workforce development and safety training, will focus on organizations training the current and future skilled workforce in safe work practices, especially in higher risk industries or occupations; creating strong pathways for in-demand middle-skill jobs; and upskilling and reskilling adult learners using earn-and-learn initiatives.
