March 18, 2022 - WorkCompWire

Philadelphia, PA – Transparent Health Marketplace, Inc. (THM) recently announced the appointment of Richard Fuchs to its Board of Directors where he will represent Anthem Inc.’s board seat.

Fuchs will apply his 25+ year healthcare and insurance experience as a leader in identifying innovative growth and partnership opportunities, to support the rapid expansion of THM’s digital marketplace within the commercial market. THM operates the first marketplace of its kind to provide real-time price transparency and analytics with the ability to easily shop, book and pay for medical services in healthcare and workers’ compensation.

Fuchs is a 10-year Anthem veteran and Head of Anthem’s Integrated Growth Verticals business supporting the commercial and specialty business division. He is responsible for building revenue and delivering consistent strategies to achieve profitable growth for various sub-segments, including: Anthem Student Advantage, National Labor & Trust, Jointly Administered Arrangement and Third Party Administrator Relationship/Strategy, Segment Acquisition (M&A) strategy and planning along with Anthem’s Workers Compensation Organization.

“Richard is a tremendous addition to our Board of Directors,” said Robert C. Mortensen, President and CEO, THM. “Besides being enormously respected within the industry and across the Anthem organization, Richard has deep knowledge of the commercial healthcare market and can help support and drive new opportunities with payors who are looking to significantly increase both speed to quality care and bottom-line savings.”

Fuchs is actively engaged with other Blue Cross Blue Shield (BC/BS) plans and third-party vendors to create partnerships expanding BC/BS plans capabilities. Richard started his career at Anthem as the head of National Labor & Trust and then advanced to vice president of large group segment strategy. Richard serves as an advisory board member for America’s Agenda and the National Labor Office of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

“I’m honored to represent Anthem’s board seat at THM,” said Fuchs. “THM’s marketplace technology is making a difference in advancing access to and affordability of healthcare by delivering needed price and process transparency. In addition, their real-time user engagement and analytics promises positive impact on industry outcomes and efficiencies. I am thrilled to be part of this innovative team that’s pushing healthcare forward.”
