Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the TDI-DWC’s recent release of the results of its 2021 Health Care Provider Performance Based Oversight (PBO) assessment.
Providers were assessed on their performance in one of two categories, including: timely filing of Reports of Medical Evaluation, and completeness of Work Status Reports – this was the first PBO cycle using a new methodology which combined two Work Status Report measures into one score. Performance was tiered between high, average, and poor performing tiers. Findings included that providers scored well on timeliness of filing of Reports of Medical Evaluation (69% high performing) while on the completeness of Work Status Reports & supporting documentation metric providers were more evenly split between “high” and “average” performance. TDI-DWC will be assessing insurance carriers separately in 2022.
