Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features a highlight from WCRI’s upcoming conference in March, announcing that they will be sharing preliminary research on patterns and outcomes of chiropractic care in workers’ comp.
WCRI notes that chiropractors often participate in the delivery of physical medicine services to workers with low back pain in many states, so it is important to know how they are involved and the outcomes of the care they provide. The new 28-state report, Patterns and Outcomes of Chiropractic Care, will examine how often workers with low back pain receive chiropractic care across states; some of the reasons for the substantial interstate variation in the use of chiropractic care; how chiropractors are involved in delivering care; and how costs and temporary disability duration compare between low back pain claims with exclusive chiropractic care and those with non-chiropractic physical medicine care.
