ClearPath Mutual’s Ladegast and Lawson Receive Workers’ Comp Professional Designation

January 27, 2022 - WorkCompWire

Louisville, KY – ClearPath Mutual recently congratulated Linda Ladegast, Claims Supervisor, and Melissa Lawson, Claims Representative, who earned their Workers Compensation Professional Designation, a certification course offered by the American Society of Workers Compensation Professionals (AMCOMP). They completed their designation through the certification’s virtual course.

Ladegast joined ClearPath Mutual as Claims Supervisor in 2019. Ladegast possesses a strong background in workers’ compensation claims handling, acquired from her experience in past roles as Claims Adjuster, Senior Claims Adjuster, and Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager.

Lawson started with the company while it was KESA, the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Fund, as a Medical Claims Representative in 2013, bringing her skills from past roles as a Claims Adjuster, Litigation Specialist, and Legal Assistant. Lawson’s success and experience lead to her promotion to Claims Representative in 2016.

AMCOMP’s certified Workers Compensation Professional (WCP®) program provides industry professionals with a strong educational foundation in the various aspects of workers compensation. Those who complete the coursework will have a demonstrated understanding of workers compensation when they pass the final assessment with a 70% or above.

Professionals from all areas of the workers compensation industry such as claims examiners, health care providers, attorneys, rehabilitation counselors, and auditors benefit from this program. This program reviews the history of workers compensation and workplace safety, law, security arrangements, underwriting, policy, endorsements and federal coverages, covered occupational events, mandated benefits, cost containment strategies, claims handling, fraud, subrogation, program administration, the ratemaking process, exclusive remedy, bad faith and more.
