December 20, 2021 - WorkCompWire

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the announcement from the National Safety Council that building on its partnership with Amazon, it has named the founding members of the advisory council for its new program aimed at preventing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at workplaces everywhere.

The advisory council is a group of expert safety & health, ergonomics, and innovation experts that will support the work of the program through a variety of ways. Initiatives on the roadmap for the coming year include The MSD Pledge, a program dedicated to helping all workplaces advance their safety journey; a Hackathon Challenge awarding prizes and grants; other grants for small businesses, universities, and students are also planned. Research will also be an important part of the program, which will use next-generation AI, NLP, and machine learning tools to explore current and future MSD innovations and trends. The research will be available to all industries to explore and glean insights, with an initial white paper debuting in the second half of 2022.
