Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new call from the National Safety Council that urges all employers to implement a COVID-19 vaccination requirement for their workers and unveiling of a guide outlining four levels of requirements for various workplace risk profiles.
To assist employers in their vaccination efforts, NSC issued guidance outlining a spectrum of vaccine requirement approaches and considerations for implementation. Requirement styles included Honor System Partial Requirements, Soft, and Hard Requirements. The NSC also noted that a recent survey it conducted found that when employers required vaccines, there was a 35% increase in worker uptake. The NSC also plans to release additional information about encouraging vaccine uptake, addressing vaccine hesitancy and testing in the workplace soon as part of its SAFER effort.
