Denver, CO – Pinnacol Assurance recently announced it hired Timothy A. Johnson, M.A., as Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President of Employee Services. He is replacing Vice President of Human Resources Barbara Brannen, who is retiring.
Johnson will lead the Human Resources and Learning and Development teams within Pinnacol, and in that capacity will play an important role in the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. He will also lead Pinnacol’s strategy to reimagine new models of working post-pandemic for the company’s 650+ employees.
Johnson is an executive with 30 years of global human resources experience. Most recently, Johnson led a number of transformation initiatives, including efforts to measure and improve representation and diversity in the food industry. He has also served in senior leadership roles in a number of global companies, ranging from PepsiCo to AutoNation to Dell Inc., where he developed strategies and programs to enhance company culture and drive both employee engagement and business outcomes.
Johnson received his B.A. in sociology from Oakland University and his M.A. in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University. He has spent over 20 years mentoring youth through YMCA programs, and coaching sports teams. He enjoys sports, fishing and spending time with his family, including his wife of over 30 years.
“Pinnacol’s purpose-built culture of caring is what sets us apart, and we are so lucky to have found the mission-driven professional in Tim who can support and guide our team into a post-pandemic new way of working together,” said Pinnacol President and CEO Phil Kalin.
