Westminster, CO – MDGuidelines recently released the MDGuidelines Duration Analyzer, a new tool for benchmarking claims performance. Duration Analyzer allows comparisons between short-term disability or workers’ compensation injury/illness durations to MDGuidelines’ population and physiological duration benchmarks. The tool provides advanced reporting and integrates diagnostic-level detail with the benchmark information.
“This new tool is designed for anyone who wants to compare claims data to gold-standard duration benchmarks,” said Joe Guerriero, SVP of MDGuidelines. “If you’re responsible for disability claims optimization, Duration Analyzer can help you identify areas for improvement and cost savings by allowing you to compare your population to our national dataset.” Data analysts, data scientists, claims professionals, employee health managers, and healthcare administrators, among other professionals, are expected to find value in the tool.
Duration Analyzer draws on statistics from MDGuidelines’ proprietary population database which includes estimates of typical disability durations for more than 20,000 diagnoses. Based on more than 18 million claims, the population database offers a robust set of data representing national demographics, industries, psychosocial factors, and benefit structures. The database includes real-world claims that are both managed and non-managed. Duration Analyzer also leverages the expertise of the MDGuidelines Medical Advisory Board, a panel of physicians with clinical specialties in fields such as internal medicine, occupational medicine, psychiatry, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and more. The Board is responsible for creating MDGuidelines’ disability duration estimates, based on physiological healing times, and informed by data analytics and medical expertise.
Duration Analyzer is available to all MDGuidelines subscribers at no additional cost. A version of the tool with limited features is available, free to all: MDGuidelines Duration Analyzer
