Ametros Announces Executive Changes

November 12, 2020 - WorkCompWire

Wilmington, MA – Ametros recently announced it has promoted Porter Leslie to CEO, effective immediately, as former CEO, Marques Torbert, transitions to serve as Chairman of the board of directors. Leslie, who has served as President of Ametros since 2017, also now joins its board.

Torbert served as CEO of Ametros since 2013 and Leslie joined the company in 2015. Together, they grew the business from less than 10 employees to more than 100, putting Ametros on the Inc. 5000’s list of fastest-growing privately held companies for the past three years.

“While Marques will be missed, Ametros is in great hands,” said Jim Brown, an Ametros board member and Managing Partner of Long Ridge Equity Partners, the company’s majority shareholder. “Porter and Marques have operated the business as partners, guiding the company through explosive growth and success. He is a strategic thinker who has a clear vision for continuing the company’s impressive growth. We are pleased that Marques will continue to hold a leadership role as Chairman of the board and wish him great success in his exciting new venture.”

Torbert is departing to lead a new private equity firm dedicated to investing in Black-owned businesses and leaders throughout the United States, with the goal of reducing the wealth gap for this demographic.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it was still a very difficult decision,” said Torbert. “I truly cherish my colleagues at Ametros and the friendships that I have developed,” he said. “Porter and I have been co-creators and partners in steering Ametros’ growth and this will be a seamless transition. I’m confident he will lead the company to further success, and I look forward to remaining deeply involved.”

Since 2010, Ametros has evolved from a simple Medicare Set-Aside reporting service to a comprehensive platform for helping injured individuals holistically manage their post-settlement, injury-related care and costs.

“I’m honored to take on a role of greater leadership at Ametros and look forward to continuing to collaborate with Marques in his new capacity as Chairman,” said Leslie. “I love this company because we truly help change people’s lives for the better post-settlement. We have an incredibly talented team, dedicated clients, and innovative solutions and are well-positioned for expansion while maintaining our focus on serving our members with compassion. I’m excited about this next chapter in our growth.”
