August 18, 2020 - WorkCompWire

Bradenton, FL – SUNZ  Insurance CEO Steve Herrig recently announced that Glen J. Distefan has been promoted to Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).  Distefano has been with SUNZ for 15 years and served in several high-level leadership roles within the technology, underwriting, and security operations, most recently as Chief Technology Officer.

Distefano started with SUNZ as Chief Information Officer in 2005 when the company was established, then moved to Chief Operations Officer in 2008, and became Chief Technology Officer in 2017.

“Glen is committed to the success of SUNZ on many levels, and he has shown his dedication through his 15-year career with the company,” said Herrig. “He has always been forward-thinking and innovative in our organization’s processes and procedures. We look forward to what’s ahead.”

In his new role, Distefano will focus on continuing to enhance and monitor cyber security measures for SUNZ to constantly look for the latest advances in security technology solutions to protect employees, team members, insureds, and claimants.

“I started with SUNZ during the start-up phase in St. Petersburg with five people working on folding tables and using cell phones. Fast-forward 15 years and the growth of the company has been incredible and I’m proud to be part of it,” said Distefano. “Now we’re more than a local insurance carrier, we’ve expanded into other services and write business in almost every state.”
