Texas Mutual Names New Senior Vice President of Underwriting

May 18, 2020 - WorkCompWire

Austin, TX – Texas Mutual Insurance Company recently announced Jeff Lentz as the company’s senior vice president (SVP) of underwriting. Lentz will oversee the company’s corporate underwriting, underwriting support services, regional underwriting, distribution, agency operations, business development and customer engagement.

“We have a long history of taking care of our agents, policyholders and injured workers, and Jeff has been an important part of that for many years. His promotion to SVP of underwriting ensures that we will continue to deliver on this,” said Jeanette Ward, chief operating officer. “His many years of underwriting expertise, experience with the company and in the insurance industry contribute to the company’s vision of building a stronger, safer Texas through innovative and responsive service to our customers.”

Lentz, who grew up in Spring, Texas, has worked at Texas Mutual for 19 years. He joined the company in 1993 after earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin State University and has since served in several roles at the company.

He began his insurance career at Texas Mutual as an underwriter at the Houston Regional Office. Jeff worked as an underwriter for three years, then went on to work for several other insurance companies before returning to Texas Mutual in 2004 to lead underwriting and marketing operations at the company’s Dallas Regional Office. He was most recently the vice president of underwriting.

Additionally, Lentz has served on the American Insurance Association Workers’ Compensation Committee and is currently a member of the National Council on Compensation Underwriting Committee.

As the coronavirus continues to alter daily life, Texas Mutual is steadfast in its commitment to support business partners and communities across the state. Jeff has helped lead the company through its response to the pandemic to ensure that policyholders continue to maintain coverage.
