Roseville, CA – Kura MD recently announced that it has teamed up with Anthem Workers’ Compensation, LLC (Anthem) and Transparent Health Marketplace (THM) to provide telehealth free of charge, to support the many workers who are struggling to get safe and timely treatment for on the job injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kura MD’s technology platform enables occupational health providers to deliver consultations to injured workers through a secure, HIPAA compliant video on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. This timely public service initiative will provide medical assessments, answers to medical questions, prescriptions, physical therapy sessions, and access to behavioral health services for injured workers.
“We built the Kura MD platform with the goal of providing immediate access to healthcare when and where it is needed, and during this COVID-19 crisis we, at Kura MD, believe that our telehealth platform provides a critical, safe, and efficient way to help injured workers or others needing medical treatment. The telehealth platform is designed to enable providers to operate as a virtual practice and provide care without patients having to leave their homes. Kura MD is therefore pleased to coordinate our efforts to provide a much needed, timely solution to this crisis,” said Amy Purchase-Reid, CEO Kura MD.
This special program provides workers’ compensation telehealth services for Anthem Providers free for 90 days from the time the provider completes the subscription.
The free service period is being underwritten financially by THM, and is available immediately in California, with other states and providers coming soon. Providers can select optional additional services at a nominal pre-negotiated cost.
Together, Anthem, THM, and Kura MD have provided a rapid response with the required technology to leverage telehealth in the workers’ compensation community.
