Soquel, CA – Kids’ Chance of California (KCOCA), a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide need-based educational scholarships to the children of California workers who have been fatally or seriously injured on the job, recently announced its 2020/2021 Board of Directors:
Maria Henderson, after being President since the inception of the KCOCA 8-years ago has passed the baton. With Maria’s leadership, we are on pace to award over $1 Million by 2021. Since our founding in 2012, KCOCA has awarded 61 individual students just over $569,000. The Board of Directors is looking forward to continuing her passion and legacy through raising money to help kids in California. Maria will continue on as the Advisory Council Chair/ Immediate Past President and are very fortunate that Maria is staying heavily involved.

KCOCA extends its thanks to thank Maria Henderson, who served as President since the inception of the organization in 2012 for her countless hours of service. Maria will continue as the Immediate Past President and Advisory Council Chair.
President, Amy Hanson said, “I’m excited to step into the role of President of KCOCA as of January 1, 2020. As a well-established organization, my goal as president is to continue to strive to increase awareness for our organization as well as focus on our mission to raise more money for more kids. I am confident that with the passion and expertise of our volunteer board and various committees, we will reach our goal of awarding $1,000,000 in scholarships by 2022. We’re looking forward to making a continued impact on families throughout California!”
