In related news today is the CA WCIRB’s release of its report on Aggregate Medical Payment Trends, which compares medical payment information from 2016-18, and includes an analysis on utilization and cost of opioid prescriptions over time and by region. Average doses of opioids prescribed dropped sharply, as did the concurrent use of opioids and sedatives.
