Cambridge, MA – The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) Worker Outcomes Survey Team recently received a Comp Laude® Award at WorkCompCentral’s Comp Laude® Awards & Gala. John Ruser, president and CEO of WCRI, accepted the award on behalf of the team.
“Congratulations to WCRI’s Worker Outcomes Survey Team (Vennela Thumula, Bogdan Savych, and Te-Chun Liu) ─ and all our colleagues ─ for working together to produce this important research and unique information, which improves all stakeholders’ understanding of how state workers’ compensation systems are serving injured workers,” said Ruser.
The Comp Laude® Award recognizes integrity, excellence and success in the workers’ compensation industry. Each year, nominations are received and reviewed by a panel of industry judges. Comp Laude® awards are presented at the annual Comp Laude® Gala.
WCRI’s Worker Outcomes Surveys ask workers injured on the job about their experience in the workers’ compensation system, providing information that complements what is learned from claims data. Among other information, workers report about their:
- recovery of physical health and functioning,
- speed and sustainability of return to work,
- earnings recovery, and
- perceived access to care and satisfaction with the care received.
