Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) announcement that the Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force has released its final report on acute and chronic pain management.
The Task Force’s report emphasizes that success in pain treatment requires addressing stigma, risk assessments, and access to the right care and education. The report also reviews five broad categories for pain treatment: medications, interventional procedures, restorative therapies, behavioral health, and complementary and integrative health approaches, noting that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach.
