Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Texas Department of Insurance’s note that it has begun testing the use of Artificial Intelligence for reviewing insurance policies.
TDI noted that AI reviews have the potential for dramatic improvements in efficiency, since they happen nearly instantaneously compared to the current process of digging through multiple databases and having employees use reference charts, etc. The department expects that the new tools should help make regulators’ jobs easier by providing faster and more comprehensive info, enabling them to make better decisions. While the first test has begun with auto policies, TDI noted that it’s on an aggressive timeline and has already begun planning its next phase.
