Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features Medcor’s announcement that it has acquired San Francisco-based Talisman Systems Group, Inc., a provider of network management services for workers’ compensation and other industries.
Medcor operates 240 clinics at or near client worksites and provides virtual health services to over 309,000 worksites across the US & Canada, and it expects the acquisition to help enhance its health navigation services, which begin with access to health assessment at the onset of symptoms or injury, followed by guidance to appropriate care. Medcor sees Talisman’s TalisPoint data helping connect patients with the right provider in the proper network to improve clinical and financial outcomes. Post-acquisition, Talisman will operate as an independent subsidiary of Medcor, retaining its leadership and TalisPoint brand and will remain based in San Francisco.
