Safety National Announces Application Period Open for Safety First Grant Program

June 20, 2018 - WorkCompWire

St. Louis, MO – Safety National recently announced that it has opened the 2018 nomination period for the annual Safety First Grant Program. This dollar-for-dollar matching grant will reimburse three policyholders for their creative solutions on how to reduce the risk of employee injury and illness.

Can you see a trend in your company’s workforce losses? Where are they coming from? Do you know of a solution that could protect your employees from future occupational injuries or illnesses? This grant may be able to help you supplement the expense of your solution and help get your employees on their way to a safer, more productive, work environment.

Grant Levels:

  • 1st Place: $10,000
  • 2nd Place: $5,000
  • 3rd Place: $2,500

Current Safety National workers’ compensation policyholders that are registered for at least one Safety National MAP Client Services online resource are eligible to participate.

How It Works:

  • Policyholders can nominate themselves on the Safety First Grant Program webpage during the June – August 2018 nomination period.
  • Nominees complete the application detailing a workers’ compensation risk-reducing solution, including an estimate of anticipated injury cost savings.
  • Safety National’s Risk Control Committee will review all nominations submitted and select the winners by October 31, 2018.
  • Solutions will be evaluated based on creativity, innovation, anticipated impact, marketability, and repeatability.

Safety National noted that the grant can be a great way to supplement the expense of a creative solution that will help create a safer, more productive work environment for employees.
