Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the announcement that independent medical examination (IME) provider MedSource National has entered into an agreement to be acquired by ExamWorks.
Bailey Southwell & Co. made the announcement and was the exclusive financial advisor to MedSource. BSC noted that through the acquisition, ExamWorks is solidifying its position as a leading IME provider in the Northeast, and is bolstering its team with the addition of some of the most well regarded IME professionals in the industry. MedSource currently boasts a nationwide network of over 15,000 medical examiners. ExamWorks’ previous transactions included its acquisition of peer review provider Advanced Medical Reviews, Inc. back in 2016, for an all cash purchase price of $30.0 million. BSC was the advisor for AMR in that transaction as well.
