CompPharma President Joe Paduda to Testify before U.S. House Subcommittee on Opioids

May 7, 2018 - WorkCompWire

Washington, DC – Joe Paduda, president of CompPharma, LLC, will testify before the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Workforce Protections hearing about opioids. “The Opioid Epidemic: Implications for the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act” hearing starts at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8.

“Unfortunately, when it comes to dealing with the opioid crisis, FECA is five or six years behind the rest of the workers’ compensation industry,” Paduda said.

He will highlight successful state initiatives and suggest ways to improve FECA’s program. These include opioid agreements, urine drug management programs for patients taking opioids, peer-to-peer education for prescribers, and non-pharmacological pain management strategies.

Members of the media can attend the hearing in room 2175 Rayburn House office building or via live webcast at https://edworkforce.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=402682
