Bailey Southwell & Co. Represents MedSource National in Sale to ExamWorks

May 23, 2018 by WorkCompWire

Nashville, TN – Healthcare and tech-enabled services investment bank Bailey Southwell & Co. (“BSC”) recently announced that it acted as the exclusive financial advisor to MedSource National (“MedSource”), a provider of independent medical examinations and related services, in its sale to ExamWorks, a provider of IMEs, peer reviews, bill reviews, Medicare compliance, case management, record retrieval, document management, and related services.

BSC, in its role as financial advisor, leveraged its deep experience in the independent medical exam space and broad knowledge of the workers’ comp, auto liability, and disability markets to achieve a superior outcome for MedSource.

MedSource provides insurers, employers, third party administrators, and law firms with a national network of more than 15,000 independent, credentialed physicians covering over 100 specialties. Additionally, MedSource offers IMEBASE, the only off-the-shelf, web-based IME workflow application designed to create, track, and complete medical examinations, medical peer reviews, and other medical evaluation services.

Through this acquisition, ExamWorks solidifies its position as a leading IME provider in the Northeast and bolsters its team with the addition of some of the most well regarded IME professionals in the industry.

“Working with the Bailey Southwell team made a typically complex process smooth and enjoyable for us. Bailey Southwell demonstrated exceptional knowledge of our space and expertly used our unique market position to achieve a value for our business significantly exceeding our expectations,” noted Tony Riccardi, President & Chief Visionary Officer of MedSource. “BSC should unquestionably be your first call when you are beginning to consider selling your business.”
