Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features WorkWell Prevention & Care’s announcement of a new onsite physical therapy service geared toward reducing soft tissue injury claims and workers’ compensation costs.
The new service emphasizes the employee experience, by focusing on creating in-person relationships with therapists that facilitate fast treatment and encourage prevention coaching. The service is backed by a new data model, which WorkWell says was field-tested through 70,000 physical therapy visits over 5 years, and compares an organization’s claims data to industry data, including clinical research and fee schedules, NCCI data, and WorkWell outcomes data, which then informs the design of a program for best results. WorkWell also noted that in the other part of the equation, onsite therapists become a familiar face to employees, increasing their comfort in asking for help sooner and seeking advice on movement.
