Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features WCRI’s release of the latest edition of its CompScope Benchmarks reports, which provide in-depth analysis of trends in claim costs as well as the impact of reforms in 18 state workers’ compensation systems.
The 18th edition of the studies analyze workers’ comp claims data over a period of years and examine trends in the average total cost per claim and the components in a given state. They also examine how indemnity benefits, medical payments, and benefit delivery expenses are impacting average total cost per claim. This edition also explores results for three states that enacted reform legislation in recent years (California, Indiana, and Tennessee). Insights from these reports can help stakeholders identify current cost drivers, and emerging trends in a wide variety of components of the workers’ comp system.
