RI DLT’s Workers’ Comp Division Announces Free Seminar on Multidisciplinary Chronic Pain Treatment

Cranston, RI – On April 12, the Department of Labor and Training’s (DLT) Workers’ Compensation Division will hold a free one-day seminar at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick where speakers will review new methods and approaches to chronic pain management. The topic of opioid use for chronic pain will be addressed from multiple perspectives. Physicians, psychologists, and healthcare providers are invited to attend this event.

Speakers include Dr. Edgar Ross from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Robert Jaminson, PhD, from Harvard Medical School, Jayne Pawasauskas, PharmD, BCPS from the University of Rhode Island’s School of Pharmacy and Kent Hospital, and Josh Sackman, MBA, President and Co-Founder of AppliedVR.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation Criteria and Policies of the Rhode Island Medical Society through the joint providership of Rhode Island Hospital and the DLT’s Workers’ Compensation Division. Attendance may be worth 4.7 AMA PRA Category 1 credit hours that can also be applied toward the Department of Health Opioid Training Credit requirement of 8.0 credit hours.
