Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features WCRI’s upcoming conference, and their announcement of a panel discussion that will help the audience look ahead at the fast-changing world of work and the implications of this change for workers’ compensation.
The theme of this year’s conference is Work and the Comp System: Evolution, Disruption, and the Future. The two-day program highlights the Institute’s latest research findings while drawing upon the diverse perspectives of workers’ comp experts and policymakers from across the country. Other key subjects to be explored include the challenges facing the workers’ comp system, and how it might evolve to meet them; whether opioid use has an effect on return to work; what providers, regulators, and payors have to say about value-based care; whether or not medical marijuana shifts prescription drug spending; and how the prescription drug crisis is impacting American employers, and how are they responding.
