Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some good news, with NCCI’s release of the latest edition of its “Our System @ Work” series, which features an accompanying video!
This installment focuses on Ryan, a police officer who nearly lost his life because of a collision that pinned him between his vehicle and the car he stopped. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken vertebrae, and a crushed left leg, and eventually an above-the-knee amputation of his right leg. Ryan survived, but faced a long, difficult road to recovery. However, Ryan not only made a return-to-work, but went on to reach personal triumph by climbing the mountainous Annapurna Circuit to raise awareness of disability rights issues.
