Raleigh, NC – Chairman Charlton Allen recently announced the appointments of Mary Claire Brown as a Deputy Commissioner for the Charlotte regional office, and Amanda R. (“Mandy”) Witzke as a new Deputy Commissioner for the Charlotte regional office.
Mary Claire Brown
Brown has been in private practice with Hedrick Gardner, practicing in the fields of liability and workers’ compensation. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, and her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law. During law school, she held internships or externships at the North Carolina Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals of North Carolina, and with the North Carolina Hospital Association.
Brown serves her community as a Safe Alliance Pro Bono Attorney, providing legal counsel to victims of domestic violence, and as a member of the Junior League of Charlotte’s Training and Development Committee.
Amanda R. Witzke
Most recently, Witzke has been in private practice with Willson Jones Carter & Baxley, P.A. in Charlotte, where she primarily practiced in the field of workers’ compensation defense. Witzke earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Witzke’s community involvement includes the Junior League of Charlotte, the Ada Jenkins Center, and the Young Affiliates of the Mint Museum.
