Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features WCRI’s announcement of their upcoming webinar, noting that in response to higher and rising hospital costs for medical care received by injured workers, several states have made changes to their hospital reimbursements, specifically Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and North Carolina.
WCRI noted that in many states, system stakeholders are looking to control the growth of hospital costs in their workers’ comp systems without causing access-to-care issues. The webinar will explore WCRI’s latest research, and will cover topics like what hospital reimbursement policy changes were made in each state; how changes to hospital reimbursement impacted costs and cost growth; and whether there were any unanticipated consequences from these reimbursement changes. The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, January 18th.
