Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features Safety National’s announcement of the awarding of its annual Safety First Grant to three policyholders for their creative risk control solutions.
The first-place grant, in the amount of $10,000, was awarded to Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs to purchase assistive lifting devices to alleviate injuries due to heavy lifting while emptying garbage cans into dumpsters. Safety National noted that one of the characteristics it looks at in the process of selecting winners is repeatability, so that other employers may take advantage of similar solutions. The grant program is available to any Safety National workers’ comp insurance policyholder with a risk control solution that aligns with Safety National’s lines of coverage.
