Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) is pleased to announce that Todd McDonald, Vice President and Board Member of Liberty Bank and Trust, has been appointed chair of the Louisiana Workforce Investment Council (WIC).
McDonald is a veteran of business management, with much of his experience concentrated in commercial lending. In his role at Liberty, he develops business plans for growth and performance improvement opportunities, as well as leads high impact initiatives and provides overall management for special projects. McDonald holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and is a graduate of Morehouse College.
“I am honored to serve the state of Louisiana in this capacity. I hope to utilize my experience on the WIC and my business background in multiple industry sectors to help build a workforce that can supply and drive economic growth throughout Louisiana,” McDonald said.
“Todd is a natural leader who understands the importance of a sound strategic plan in determining long-term success,” said Ava Dejoie, LWC Executive Director. “His practices are ahead of the curve for evolving technologies and will serve as an advantage in our efforts to integrate and disseminate the state’s workforce development resources.”
Comprised of members from stakeholder groups including business and industry, organized labor, state and local government and community organizations, the WIC advises the governor on the needs of the state’s employers and workforce population, in addition to overseeing the Occupational Forecast Conference.
