Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the IAIABC’s recent announcement of the inaugural class of winners of its NextGen Awards, which recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who are making their mark on the industry. This year’s 11 winners were selected from over 30 nominees based on their contributions and impact on the workers’ compensation industry.
Recipients will be profiled in the October issue of IAIABC’s Perspectives digital magazine and invited to its 103rd convention to participate in a special session called “A Conversation with the NextGen”. In the past the IAIABC has noted the lack of younger talent as an important issue within the workers’ comp community, as the greater insurance industry faces 400,000 open jobs by 2020, and IAIABC jurisdictional members have noted 40-50% of their workforce is eligible for retirement within 5 years.
