Bradenton, FL – SUNZ Insurance Company, a large deductible workers’ compensation carrier, recently announced the appointment of Gene R. Levine to the position of Senior Vice President – Underwriting. Levine will report directly to Therese A. Stevens, President of SUNZ. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the underwriting and loss control departments of SUNZ Insurance as well as continuing to coach and develop a staff focused on protecting policyholders’ businesses and their employees.

His proven track record of performance and vast leadership experience, along with his expertise with underwriting guidelines and quality assurance protocols, make Gene well suited to lead our underwriting department,” said Stevens. “Gene will be a valuable team leader to SUNZ as we continue to build upon our strong underwriting foundation.”
Levine has 30 years of insurance experience including rating agency analysis, compliance, detailed knowledge of the underwriting, loss control, and distribution functions combined with a strong foundation in finance. In addition, Levine has proficiency in redesigning operational workflows to create greater efficiencies and productivity along with a diverse perspective to developing and driving solutions.
A graduate of Rider University, Levine received his BSC in accounting and he earned his MBA from Dickinson University. Additionally, Levine holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and GE Certified Quality Greenbelt (Six Sigma) certifications.
